Slovak Food Festival 2017

The Food Festival in the Middle-European setting.
Any talented artist knows that a painting gains importance from its frame that enhances and makes it unique, which is why the great Masters of the past always tried to choose their frames themselves for their work. This principle must have inspired the organizer of the eighth edition of the Slovak Food Festival, which animated the Slovakian capital of Bratislava from 1st to 4th June. The setting this time was the magnificent castle, which is now seat of the National Parliament and official residence of the President of the Republic. The castle stands on top of a hill, dominating the River Danube that was fortified by the ancient Romans, and dating back to the 10th century until 1500 was home of the Kings of Hungary, to then become one of the favourite retreats of Maria Theresa of Austria. On a clear day, Vienna can be seen from one of its four beautiful towers and you can admire the hidden views of the capital at its feet. The restoration work was completed in 2013, and made it even more beautiful than before for citizens and tourists alike (20,000 visitors a year), who love visiting the castle and wandering around its gardens. In this fairy-tale setting the Slovak Food Festival offered 4 days of entertainment, with a programme divided over four sections: producers’ stands, debates, presentations in the Food and Beverage Sector and Product Sector, live shows, cocktails and live music in the Chillout Zone, outdoor cooking schools, Kids Corner cheering the gardens with their voices. Of the most represented cooking schools at the Festival, apart from the main international ones and Japan, there were Hungary, Austria and the Czech Republic with their typical gourmet specialities. The event is mainly dedicated to restaurateurs and trade operators, but one of the peculiarities was being open to everyone, a free entry with special focus on entertainment for families and children: so, assisted by the early European summer, the organisers decided to call this picture “the largest picnic in the city” (a picnic that every year counts on more than 15,000 visitors). Thanks to working in tandem with the Export Area Manager, Luca Bertogno, and our customer Luknar . which is also the organizer of the Slovak Food Festival - Berto’s inaugurated its first participation as Festival technical sponsor preparing and providing the chefs with its La Cucina monobloc, the admiral of the fleet presented in premiere this year in Milan, and already admired in all the main trade exhibitions so far in 2017.
